Buhr Park Outdoor Ice Arena is closed for the season. The rink has a cooled subfloor that allows us to maintain ice even when it is over 50 degrees outside. Activities include public ice skating, drop-in hockey and rental hours.
The facility has a heated lobby, vending, restrooms and four separate locker rooms for hockey. Skate rentals are available. Skate sharpening available. Immediate service, $6; overnight, $5.

Buhr Park Pool features a fan-shaped, zero-depth area with interactive water play features and a 25yard lap pool with a 12 foot diving well. We offer lounge chairs, picnic area, tennis courts and a shaded deck area. Our hours for general swimming are 3:30-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon-8 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Our schedule will change on June 16 and offer more times for adult lap swimming and tot splash, so check back with us then or scroll down to the pool section of this site to learn more.

Group Swim Lessons
Group Lessons are offered for children ages 6 months and up. Ability requirements must be honored unless prior instructor approval is granted. Register at any of the City pools, by phone or here. There are four different sessions:
Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- Aug. 1; Session 4: Aug. 5-15. Each Session consists of eight classes meeting Mondays-Thursdays for two weeks. Tadpoles, Minnows, Dolphins and Sharks are 30 minute classes. Otters and Orcas are 45 minute classes.
This program is for babies ages 6 months to 3 years old and their parent or adult to become comfortable in the water and to learn skills needed for continued comfort and enjoyment in the water. Fee: $45, resident; $55 non-resident. There are four different sessions:
Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- Aug. 1; Session 4: Aug. 5-15. Times: 10:10-10:40 a.m. 11:30 a.m.-noon.
Introductions to water skills for tykes who are just starting off. Swimmers will be in the water with only an instructor and need to be at least 4 years old to participate in this class. Fee: $45, resident; $55 non-resident. There are four different sessions: Session 1: June 17-27; Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- August 1; Session 4: August 5-15. Fundamental aquatic skills for those who can fully sumberge head, float independently, blow bubbles and feel comfoarble in the water. Fee: $45, resident; $55 non-resident. There are four different sessions:
Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- August 1; Session 4: August 5-15. Times: 8:50am-9:20am, 9:30am-10:00, 10:10am-10:40, 10:50-11:20.
Beginning stroke development for those who can push off the side, flutter kick on back/front with arm actions and float on their front and back comfortably. Fee: $45, resident; $55 non-resident. There are four different sessions:
Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- Aug. 1; Session 4: Aug. 5-15. Times: 8:50-9:20 a.m., 9:30-10 a.m., 10:10-10:40 a.m., 10:50-11:20 a.m. 11:30 a.m.-noon.
Stroke improvement for those who can swim front and back crwl for 20 yards, demonstrate butterfly, breaaststroke and tread water for one minute. Fee: $55, resident; $70 non-resident. There are four different sessions:
Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- August 1; Session 4: Aug. 5-15. Times: 10-10:45 a.m., 11-11:45 a.m.
Stroke refinement for those who have coordinated front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and elementary back stroke. Fee: $55, resident; $70 non-resident. There are four different sessions:
Session 2: July 8-18; Session 3: July 22- August 1; Session 4: August 5-15. Times: 9-9:45 a.m.
Private Swim Lessons
Individual swim instruction for swimmers ages 3 to adult are private lessons, 30 minutes long, and customized to meet the needs of the swimming participant. Private lessons are for one participant only. Fee: Half hour $15 resident; $18 nonresident. Lessons are offered June 18 - Aug. 16 on Monday through Thursday, noon-1pm.
From animals and world travel to Hogwarts and Disney, an adventure awaits each week for children ages 5-12. Our certified staff will lead a week filled with themed activities and swimming in Buhr Park Outdoor Pool. For more information visit our camp page
Join us for an afternoon of special games, contests and prizes Saturday, July 13 from 2:00-4:00! Activities and prizes included in the cost of general admission.
Our swim team provides an introduction to team competitive swimming, basic skill development and a strengthening program for more advanced swimmers. We provide an opportunity to compete in sup to six swim meets and an area-wide conference meet through the Washtenaw Interclub Swimming Conference. This team is open to anyone ages 5-17 years old who can swim at least one length of the pool (front crawl). Swimmers with special needs are encouraged to join.
This team is a fun way to get into competitive swimming. Meets are held Saturday mornings. The fee for the swim team is $125, resident; $150, nonresident. For information, call 734.794.6234.
The dog swim will be held on September 4th and 5th from 3:00-8:00. Cost is $6 per dog, second dog is half-price.
