CITY OF ANN ARBOR CODE: CHAPTER 40, SECTION 3:12, TREES AND OTHER VEGETATION
The city administrator shall have the sole authority over the planting, maintenance and removal of trees in the street right-of-way and other city property. No person without written permission of the city administrator shall plant, remove, break, spray or take any action which will injure or destroy any tree or shrub, the base of which is located in the street right-of-way or other city land.
*A canopy loss fee and/or appraisal fee may be charged for the removal of a city-owned tree.
Site Conditions (Only complete if tree planting is proposed)
Note: Please space trees at the following recommended distances based on the newly planted trees mature size. Small species - 20 feet from existing trees; Medium species - 30 feet from existing trees; Large species 40 feet from existing trees.
If Yes, only trees with a mature height of 30 feet may be planted
I understand that the expense and risk of tree work is the responsibility of the property owner.
Property Owner/Contractor to notify the City of Ann Arbor when work has been completed to schedule a post-work inspection.
