The Role of Information Technology at the City
The Information Technology Service Unit has leadership roles in setting the future direction for information technology so the City of Ann Arbor can achieve its strategic priorities, coaching service areas on business process improvements, delivering a clear business value and providing enterprise-level project management expertise, ensuring successful initiatives across the organization.
The Information Technology Service Unit is organized to support the diverse needs of the city organization, delivered around five core areas:
Administration
Providing strategic and day-to-day direction over the Information Technology Service Unit.
Application delivery
Providing business applications support services for over thirty unique business including Police and Fire, Planning and Development, Customer Service, Finance, 15th District Court, Ann Arbor Housing Authority and Human Resources.
Service delivery
Providing core technology services to the city including desktops, laptops, voice, internet, email services and service desk.
Project delivery
Providing enterprise-wide project management services, ensuring successfull implementations of large projects.
Architecture and security
Providing strategic technology and security roadmaps, policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and value for our customers
