Craft! Explore! Recycle!​

Join the Ecology Center to make a recycled craft, learn about recycling and sustainability, and participate in a park activity provided by Give 365. Parks & Crafts is sponsored by the Public Works Department of Solid Waste.

These FREE events for families, individuals, and groups are held once per month through the year (with the exception of some winter months). 



October 12, 2019. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Gallup Park, 3000 Fuller Rd. Make a spooky (or silly) recycled glass lantern, and take a walk through Gallup to pick up trash and enjoy fall colors. 

November 9, 2019. 1-3 p.m.  

Veterans Memorial Park2150 Jackson Ave. Get your hands dirty preparing the garden for winter and create a recycled bird feeder for your home. Enjoy a quick skate during open skate time***

December 7, 2019. 1-3 p.m.

Ann Arbor Senior Center1320 Baldwin Ave. Decorate the senior center for winter, then create your own ornament or mosaic tile with shells, beads, buttons, and more!

January 25, 2020. 1-3 p.m.

Mack Indoor Pool. 715 Brooks St. Make embossed aluminum art and enjoy a swim in our heated indoor pool*. Open swim time is 2-5 p.m. 

March 28, 2020. 10 a.m.-12 p.m. 

Gallup Park, 3000 Fuller Rd. Experience springtime at Gallup Park by picking up litter. Create a recycling reminder magnet with mascot Reco the Racoon!

April 11, 2020. 10 a.m.-12 p.m. 

Bryant Community Center. 3 W Eden Court. Take home your own handcrafted and compostable planting pot (with a native seedling) and help us garden! 

May 9, 2020. 10 a.m. -12 p.m. 

Huron Hills Golf Course. 3465 E Huron River Rd. Make recycled paper you can turn into a Mother's Day card (or for another special person), then enjoy a round of footgolf**. 

June 27, 2020. 2-4 p.m. 

Veterans Memorial Park. 2150 Jackson Ave. Enjoy a Splash Day* with activities, music, and games, and make reusable decorations for hosting your own summer parties.
