Ann Arbor Housing Commission (AAHC) seeks to provide desirable housing and related supportive services for low-income individuals and families on a transitional and/or permanent basis. AAHC will partner with housing and service providers to build healthy residential communities and promote an atmosphere of pride and responsibility.
Rental Assistance Demonstration
The AAHC was approved by HUD to convert all of its public housing units to project-based vouchers to stabilize the operating funds and enable the AAHC to reinvest in the physical properties.
The Housing Choice Voucher (formerly Section 8) Waiting List is CLOSED at this time.Public Housing Waiting Lists are CLOSED at this time. Pear St. Project Based Voucher Waiting List is CLOSED at time. Application recieved for the Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List have been reviewed. 500 applicants were selected for placement on the waiting list using a lottery based system. Notifications were mailed on 11/12/12. If you have not received notification you may check your status by calling (734) 794-6720.

Resident Advisory Board Meeting
The Ann Arbor Housing Commission (AAHC) is developing its Agency Plan for FY2014-2015 in compliance with the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. The AAHC has also recently proposed an amendment to its Voucher Program Administrative Policy to allow the waitlist to be opened for emergency purposes, such as a natural disaster. And the AAHC is proposing to demolish 1725 -1735 Green Road due to a fire.
A public meeting with the Resident Advisory Board will be held on February 13, 2014, at Miller Manor Community Room, 727 Miller Ave, Ann Arbor, 48103 at 5:30 PM to receive tenant input on these issues.
All tenants of AAHC public housing and all AAHC voucher tenants are members of the AAHC Resident Advisory Board and are encouraged to attend.
The proposed amendment to the Administrative Plan is located on the AAHC website with this public notice.

You can now listen to our Administrative Plan and Policies as well as view them. To do so:
Turn on the Read Out Loud function by going into the Adobe document à clicking on View à clicking on Read Out Loud à then clicking on Activate Read Out Loud.
