Senior Center Reopens

Archived News Release: September 15, 2014 - The Ann Arbor Senior Center construction project, that resulted in the temporary closure of the facility, has concluded, and the site is now open. All regularly scheduled programs and classes will resume as planned. We apologize for any inconvenience this interim closure may have caused, and we appreciate the community's patience.

One of the positive notes of the unscheduled project was that it provided Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation the opportunity to make further enhancements to the senior center, including additional insulation in the roof, ceiling fans, fresh paint and better, more energy-efficient lighting. In the coming months the roof will be replaced, and new carpet and skylights installed. These improvements are not anticipated to result in a building closure.

The Ann Arbor Senior Center hosts and offers daily and weekly classes and programs for all ages. Among the most popular are the concerts and cultural arts programs, bingo, yoga, bridge and much, much more.

In addition to a broad range of educational, health and social-related classes, the Ann Arbor Senior Center is available for rent. The facility includes a main room that measures 1,360 square feet, as well as a comfortable lobby area and a private conference room set off in the back. Affordably priced and convenient, the center offers a variety of amenities for family celebrations, club meetings, public classes, receptions, parties, retreats, business meetings, trainings and other events. Adult functions may also pay an additional fee for an alcohol permit when booking parties and celebrations. Rental fees are affordable and start at $30 per hour.
