Dog Park at Broadway Park is Now Open

Opening event scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Archived News Release: October 17, 2016 - Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation is happy to announce the new off-leash dog play area in Broadway Park (800 Broadway St.), along the Huron River, is now open. As with the dog park at Swift Run, the new Broadway Park location has separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. A parking area is within walking distance — less than .2 miles from the park (see map above - jpeg). An annual permit will be required for access to the off-leash area, current Olson Park permit holders or all-city off-leash dog park permit holders are welcome to use the dog park.

On Wednesday, Oct. 19, Ann Arbor Give 365 program will host an event from 4-6 p.m. with light refreshments to celebrate the opening of the park. Information regarding permits and licensing will also be available.

Permitting requires dogs to be up to date with vaccinations, helping to ensure a safe environment. Dog park permits/tags and licenses may be purchased at the Ann Arbor City Clerk's office 8 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays (closed Fridays, now–Oct. 28, 2016). The city clerk's office is located at Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron St., second floor. A paper copy of the dog park registration form can be picked up at the city clerk's office, or download a PDF version at www.a2gov.org/dogparks.
