Police and Fire Family Open House is Aug. 6

Archived News Release: July 18, 2016 - ​The community is invited to a free fa​mily open house with the Ann Arbor Fire and Police departments Saturday, Aug. 6, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Justice Center, 301 E. Huron St. The community can explore fire and police vehicles; meet the Police K–9 unit; watch vehicle extrication and smoke house demonstrations; learn about the Community Emergency Response Team; and more. Free hot dogs and popcorn will be provided.

"We look forward to this event each year to give our fire and police personnel the opportunity to interact with the public in this fun setting," said Ann Arbor Fire Chief Larry Collins.

"Another great turnout is expected," noted Ann Arbor Police Chief Jim Baird. "Crowd favorites tend to be the fire trucks and our police K–9s." This is the third annual community open house.
