Stewardship WorkdayFurstenberg Nature Area

Saturday, June 25, 9 a.m. to Noon

This park along the river has lots of great ecological diversity, including a restored prairie and an oak savanna. Help is needed to protect it from invasive weeds that crowd out native plants and provide little food for wildlife. In addition, Park Steward and Master Gardener Aunita Erskine will lead some volunteers in maintaining the native garden at this park. Please meet in the parking lot off of Fuller Road.

NAP works to protect and restore Ann Arbor's natural areas and to foster an environmental ethic among its citizens. This involves conducting plant and animal inventories, ecological monitoring and stewardship projects in Ann Arbor parks. These tasks are performed by both staff and volunteers. For more information about NAP, visit www.a2gov.org/NAP.

This year, Pollinator Week is June 20–26. For more information on nationwide events, visit www.pollinator.org.  To get involved locally, join NAP for at their workday in the prairie, oak savanna, and native garden at Furstenberg Nature Area — all of which are great habitat for native pollinators.
