Archived News Release: December 2, 2015 - An informational neighborhood meeting regarding the potential community impacts of the proposed Nixon Farms developments is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Huron High School cafeteria (2727 Fuller Road).
If you are interested in better understanding the impacts to the surrounding community resulting from the proposed Nixon Farms developments, please attend this informational meeting. City staff will be at the meeting to respond to questions about the proposed intersection, area storm water impacts, and water system impacts.
If you are interested in City Council's consideration of Nixon Farms zoning and site plans, a public hearing is scheduled on Dec. 21, 2015. The development petitions are scheduled for final City Council action at the Dec. 21 meeting.
Staff responses to frequently asked questions regarding the project as well as community impacts will be available online and also provided in packets distributed at the meeting.
Nixon Farm North proposes 208 attached dwelling units grouped in 51 buildings on a 64.5-acre site with 65 percent as open space and 6 acres of donated parkland. An additional 10 acres will be acquired by the city for a total of 16 acres of parkland. Nixon Farm South proposes 264 attached dwelling units grouped in 51 buildings on a 37-acre site with 65 percent as open space.
