Artists can Submit Design to Adorn Manchester Water Tower

Archived News Release: March 24, 2015 - The City of Ann Arbor is calling on artists and students to submit art that could be chosen to adorn the Manchester water tower located near the intersection of Washtenaw Avenue and Stadium Boulevard. The deadline to enter is Monday, June 1. Entry forms and photos of the tower are available online at www.a2gov.org/ArtInTheSky. This contest is part of improvements being made to the water tower that will enhance worker safety, install updated technology and apply a fresh coat of paint.

CONTEST RULES:

Free to enter, one entry per person (artists may submit multiple templates to reflect various vantage points). Designs must be limited to five solid colors and no shading or black outlines will be accepted. Artwork shall be limited to the tank's bowl.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

You must be a City of Ann Arbor resident or a student living in Ann Arbor. The design should not be overly complex and should be visible from a distance. Minor modifications to the design may be required to accommodate construction techniques.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Complete an entry form. Use the template provided on www.a2gov.org/ArtInTheSky to create your rendering. Email your design to [email protected] or bring it in person to the Customer Service desk located at Larcom City Hall (first floor), 301 E. Huron St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
