TURN YOUR OLD PHONE INTO A HOPELINE
ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 4, 2012— Do you have old cell phones collecting dust in your home? Community Television Network (CTN) has a solution! We’ve partnered with Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine initiative by holding a phone drive from now until June 30 at the CTN Studio, 2805 S. Industrial Highway, suite 200, 48104.
To participate in the HopeLine Phone Drive, simply bring in your old wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any provider and drop them in the collection bins in the CTN lobby. All collected phones will be donated to HopeLine from Verizon (www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline) and turned into support for domestic violence victims.
A few tips before donating:
- Be sure to erase contacts from the addresses book.
- Delete call logs.
- Erase messages and move stored photos, videos and other media.
- Remove your SMS card.
If you’re unsure how to remove data, you can leave it to professionals by taking it to your provider’s store or leaving it to HopeLine. As part of the refurbishing process, HopeLine “scrubs” the phones to remove the old data prior to distributing them for reuse.
If you’d like to participate or have questions, contact Melissa Cohn at 734.794.6150, extension 41504. For more information on CTN, visit www.a2gov.org/ctn.
