VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Rapid Market Assessment: Saturday, August 23, 7AM-3PM

To get a better understanding of how the market is growing and changing over time, we need help performing our first Rapid Market Assessment. Scheduled for Saturday, August 23, from 7AM - 3PM, this assessment will provide us with a one-time market-day snapshot of attendance at and overall satisfaction with the market. As part of the Market Assessment, you will use simple, tested methods to: count market customers, survey customers with a dot survey, and compile market observations and recommendations. These assessments and your help will be invaluable to making the market bigger and better than ever!

If you are interested in becoming a part of our team on August 23, please send an email to FarmersMarketVolunteers@a2gov.org, or call the market office, at 734.994.3276.

New!  Knife Sharpening while you shop on Wednesdays!

Bring your knives, scissors, tools, or anything else that could need sharpening to market with you on Wednesdays, and have it sharpened while you shop by a third-generation knife sharpener!

And guess what else is new at market!  Super yummy and locally-roasted coffee and stone-ground organic spelt, buckwheat, and other gluten-free flours.

Please remember, no dogs are allowed at the market on market days.

Become a market volunteer!

The Ann Arbor Farmers Market is looking for volunteers!  We have so many exciting things we hope to do this season, and we will only be able to accomplish our goals with your help.  From one-time events to involvement with ongoing projects, there is an opportunity for everyone to contribute, helping ensure that the Ann Arbor Farmers Market remains a vibrant, fresh, exciting part of our community.

Some ideas of volunteer opportunities include:

*Scooping and serving ice cream or hanging decorations at one of our market festivals

*Documenting the weekly colors and characters, as a weekly market photographer

*Keeping shoppers and vendors alike updated on market goings-on, by contributing articles to the market newsletter

*Learning more about our wonderful cast of market vendors, by helping to complete our market oral history project.

*Conducting occasional market surveys, so we know exactly how the market is growing and changing over time

*Helping plan events that make the market more family- and kid-friendly.

*Anything else you can dream up!

If you are interested in becoming a market volunteer, please send an email to FarmersMarketVolunteers@a2gov.org, or call the market office, at 734.994.3276.
