for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Apply Today for 2010! Applications due Jan. 29, 2010
Congratulations to A3C Architects on winning the 2008 Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Awards!
As part of the plan to meet the Ann Arbor Energy Challenge, the Energy Commission has created the Energy Challenge Awards Program (ECAP) to recognize community businesses that have built or renovated to a high standard of energy performance for their buildings. These buildings will serve as examples to others of how high efficiency and renewable energy can be incorporated into buildings in Ann Arbor to reduce their overall energy needs, operating costs, global warming emissions and pollution associated with energy use. Awards are offered in two categories: (1) Renewable Energy and (2) Energy Efficiency.
Winners will receive public recognition and an official Energy Challenge Award plaque that can be displayed in their building. The City will also publicize the winners and their accomplishments on this website.
Eligibility
The Energy Challenge Awards are open to commercial projects that promote energy efficiency and/or renewable energy in the City of Ann Arbor—including new construction, renovations, retrofits, and behavior change. Awards are offered only for projects completed in the last three years (2006-2009).
Renewable Energy award winners will obtain at least 50% of their energy from renewable energy sources in Michigan. Energy Efficiency award winners will complete a fundamental commissioning of building energy systems and reduce total building energy use below the strictest applicable standard by 50% for new construction and 35% for renovations.
Applications
