Home Energy Audits

The Environmental House is now offering residents, builders, and real estate professionals home energy audits through the Home Energy Rating System (HERS). A home energy audit can help existing owners identify ways to lower utility bills and save money. Real estate brokers can offer customers expanded financing packages through energy efficient mortgages. New home builders and realtors can actively market Energy Star homes as a certified superior product. For more information on how the Environmental House staff can assist you with your next project, please contact Jason Bing at 734-662-6288 or via email: jason@recycleannarbor.org.

If you are not in the Ann Arbor area, check with your local energy office or visit Home Energy Saver to do a (free) online audit.

Home Energy Videos

Washtenaw County's Dept. of Planning and Environment produced a great 12 minute video of a Home Energy Makeover (sponsored by the Clean Energy Coalition), as well as two moving public service announcements.  Watch the videos here.
