June 2004 - The following are large pdf files of the Feasibility Study Submitted by Pall Life Sciences.

The MDEQ public meeting date has been set for 7:00 PM, July 28 at the Slauson School. The notice and public comment period will be published in the MDEQ calendar on 6/28. The information will also be on the MDEQ'S website later this week.  MDEQ expects to have the MDEQ's preferred alternative, for consideration during the public comment period and meeting, available to the public on July 7, the official beginning of the 30-day public comment period.

April 2004 - Pall Life Sciences (PLS) has submitted a Limited Feasibility Study to Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) recommending remedial activities.  The following documents include the plan submitted by PLS and comments made by the City.

In-situ workplan

Pall Life Sciences (PLS) has prepared a workplan for insitu use of Hydrogen peroxide.

Pall Life Sciences (PLS) has prepared the Interim Feasibility Study (FS). The final FS will be prepared and submitted on or before April 20, 2004.

PLS has submitted the following files to MDEQ for review. Comments were due to MDEQ by January 14, 2004.

Technical Outreach Services for Communities

On November 5, 2003, the City of Ann Arbor signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Technical Outreach Services for CommunitiesClick here for a pdf version of the memorandum.

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) was recently told that the Feasibility Study (FS) from Pall Life Sciences will not be submitted on October 17, 2003.

The proposed submission date has been changed to some time in December.

The FS will examine several options for the remediation of 1,4-dioxane groundwater contamination in the deep (Unit E) aquifer related to the Gelman Sciences site. 

The public meeting on the FS previously scheduled for November 12, 2003, at the Slauson Middle School has been cancelled.

A formal DEQ announcement of the rescheduled public meeting and public comment period will be posted on the MDEQ web site after the FS is received. The public meeting will include a summary of the FS, after which questions and comments on the FS will be accepted. Contact the DEQ project manager, Sybil Kolon or 517-780-7937.
