- The soil borings in the Mosley/Ashley/First neighborhood began Wednesday, May 14, 2003 and continued for approximately two weeks.
- City and county staff contacted/are continuing to contact area residents to schedule a time to review a survey of household materials that may interfere with indoor air sampling.
- On Wednesday, May 28 and Thursday May 29, 2003, EPA contractors will be installing semi-permanent soil vapor probes in both indoor and outdoor locations.
- By May 30, 2003 residents had a checklist of items containing volatile compounds to temporarily remove from their homes. Removing these items will help ensure that air sampling produces clear results. (Household products that may contain VOCs should be removed from the home as soon as possible, up to one week before their TAGA appointment).
- Between June 2 and June 6, 2003 the TAGA was in the area to conduct ambient sampling.
- In June through mid July, EPA will examine data and compile findings into an initial report.
- By mid July, a multi-jurisdictional task force will meet to quality check the initial report.
- Between late July and early August, state officials will examine data for community health and environmental implications.
- In August, final results will be quality checked a second time so they are ready for presentation to the community.
- In late August or early September, the City will hold a public meeting for discussion of the results. The City will make all results and related information available for interested citizens at City Hall; some of these materials will be available online.
