Project Information and Updates
The first progress meeting for this project is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Forsythe Middle School cafeteria, located at 1655 Newport Rd., Ann Arbor, Michigan. You are invited to meet with us to learn more about the project and have your questions answered.
Proposed Work
The proposed water main goes from the intersection of Dexter/Maple north on Maple to Miller, east on Miller to Fulmer, north on Fulmer to the bicycle trail across the city property and school property, east on Sunset to the City of Ann Arbor Water Treatment Plant.
This project increases capacity in the west high service district and up grades the City of Ann Arbor Water Treatment Plant storm sewer system to current standards.
This project consists of constructing approximately 9,800 linear feet of new 24-inch water main and 2,864 linear feet of 30-inch storm sewer.
The pavement on Miller Avenue is in bad condition and a full section pavement restoration is planed from Fulmer Street to Maple Road. Full section pavement restoration is also planned for the Sunset Road. The remaining areas of the project including Maple Road from Dexter Avenue to Fulmer Street, and Fulmer Street will be repaved over the new water main trenches only. Any paved surface or lawn extension disturbed during the construction will be restored in the fall of 2008.
Construction Impacts
Please be advised that during construction traffic lanes will be narrowed and limited to one lane in each direction and at times there will be detours.
