 Packard Road SCOOT Expansion

This project expands Ann Arbor’s traffic adaptive signal control technology called SCOOT (Split Cycle Offset Optimization Technique) on Packard Road from Stadium to Eisenhower. Funding will allow for pulling the fiber optic cable communication lines to the signals and connecting intersection controllers with the central computer that runs SCOOT software as well as replacing signal controllers with ones capable to work under SCOOT command and add system detection. Once added, these signals will be better coordinated with the existing Eisenhower section already under SCOOT and improve traffic flow and reduce traffic delays to a certain degree in that area.

Estimated project cost is $192,500.
