 Holiday Collection Schedule

The City of Ann Arbor solid waste collection crews observes the following holidays:

  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

On these specific holidays there is no refuse, recycling, or compost collection and the Drop-Off Station and Wheeler Service Center are closed.

During a week where one of these holidays occurs, solid waste collection on the actual holiday will not occur. Each day following the holiday will occur one day later than the usual weekly collection date. (Normally-collected Friday routes will be picked up on Saturday.) All other holidays throughout the year do not affect the solid waste collection schedules, including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Presidents Day; Good Friday; Columbus Day; Veterans Day; and other holidays, except the six listed above. City Hall offices, however, may observe additional holidays.
