 Off-Campus Student Guide 

 

Place refuse & recycling at curb before 7 a.m. on the weekly pickup day or the day before. Curbside refuse and recycling may be set at the curb no earlier than 24 hours before the designated collection day.  All debris and collection containers must be removed from the curb no later than noon the day after collection day unless a prepaid bulk pickup has been arranged.  Check for pickup day.

The City of Ann Arbor Public Services Area reminds residents in the University of Michigan off-campus areas that all trash items must be properly managed for disposal, especially during student turnover times. If trash materials are set out too early, or are incorrectly prepared, the resident will be subject to City fines and cleanup fees.

All refuse must be contained in trash carts or dumpsters.  Any loose trash or abandoned furniture, mattresses, etc. left at the curb will be ticketed and fined. Pick up litter, beverage cups, newspapers, etc.  around your home. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Please contact local haulers for your bulk disposal needs or use the Drop-Off Station, 2950 E. Ellsworth, 971-7400, is open Mon-Sat, 9-5 accepts waste items at a low charge. Recyclables are accepted at no charge.

Don’t block dumpsters with vehicles or debris. 

Violations of these codes are charged a minimum $100 cleanup fee plus fines up to $1000 
per citation.
