DATES/TIMES: The unlimited free leaf drop-off for landscapers and haulers is available from September through December on (non-holiday) weekdays 8 a.m. to 12 Noon, and 2-4 p.m. Commercial haulers will be charged $15/cubic yard for leaves delivered between 12-2 p.m.

COSTS: Unlimited free leaf drop-off is available for leaves from City of Ann Arbor properties.  All leaves from outside Ann Arbor will be assessed $15/cubic yard during this period.

There are two permit approaches available for free Fall Leaves drop-off

Individual Property Permit  “A”  (pdf)

Provide proof of residency, e.g., drivers license and current water bill stub.

If over 3 cubic yards of leaves or if a non-Ann Arbor resident is delivering leaves on behalf of an Ann Arbor property address, the driver will need to turn in a signed permit "A"

  • Vehicles delivering more than 3 cubic yards of leaves will need to record empty vehicle weights with the scalehouse staff.

Multiple Properties Permit  “B”  (pdf)

  • Turn in a signed Multiple Properties Permit "B" and an Ann Arbor customer addresses spreadsheet.

  • Each business will need to identify vehicles and record empty weight at scalehouse before or after first leave drop-off.  On future deliveries, weight will be on file.

Unloading Leaves:

The driver will be directed by the scalehouse staff to the appropriate area at the Compost Center to drop-off leaves.
