The 2007 Adopt-A-Park Spring Kickoff
A wonderful success! Thanks to all the volunteers and volunteer coordinators!!!!
The neighbors of Esch Park planted flowers and watered and wood chipped the trees that were planted in the autumn of 2006. Many friends of Waterworks Park helped plant a couple redbud shrubs, picked up the playground and tended to the trees planted last year. Many neighbors of Wellington Park woodchipped around recently planted trees, planted lots of flowers, and made and planted some lovely flower boxes. A couple friends of West Park did some spring cleaning for a few hours. The neighbors of Wurster Park removed trash and invasive garlic mustard. THANKS ALL!!!

Adopt-A-Park
The City of Ann Arbor owns over 2000 acres of park land at 151 parks. We've had thousands of volunteers help to improve these areas - we would love your help in caring for all of these parks.
Regional parks like Veterans Memorial Park, and neighborhood parks like Baxter, Churchill Downs, and Scheffler need neighbors and park users to take up their cause. Some volunteers have been planting and maintaining flower beds; maintaining the trails and paths; painting and caring for park structures; cleaning up litter; planting, mulching, and watering trees; generally making sure the park is in order. Each park has it's own atmosphere and its own needs and each volunteer has their own interests. You can work on any number of activities in your favorite park!

Many locations are available or let us know about a garden that you would like to make your own. Signs are placed with your name acknowledging your commitment to the garden.
