General Planning News

    Citizen Participation meeting for 922-926 Catherine Project: Huron Development has scheduled a public meeting for May 16, 7 pm at St. Andrew's Church (corner of Catherine & Division) to present their proposal for a new development at 922-926 Catherine Street.  The site, which currently is vacant, is proposed to be rezoned from PUD (Planned Unit Development) to R4C (Multiple-Family Dwelling) to allow construction of a five-unit residential building.  See the announcement in the link below for more information:

    Sustainable Ann Arbor Forums:  Replays of the forums, which were held between January and April 2012, are now available on-line at www.a2gov.org/sustainability

      Amendments to Chapter 59 (Off-Street Parking) were approved by City Council on April 2, 2012.  Click on the links below for the text of the amendments.  For further information, contact Jeff Kahan at jkahan@a2gov.org.  

      • Technical Amendments to Chapter 59 (pdf)

        Amendments are proposed to 1) revise the exceptions for the front open space parking limitation applied to sites with more than one front lot line; 2) add standards for driveways that serve drive-through windows; and 3) replace the option of providing a contribution in lieu of parking with the option of executing a contract for parking permits in the City public parking system for sites with the special parking district.

      Planning Commission Meeting Agenda and Packet 

      The City Planning Commission generally meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7pm in Council Chambers (2nd floor of City Hall) and has a working session on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
