Inspection Scheduling
To schedule Inspections for all construction activity:

Through the new Automated Inspection Scheduling up to 10 days in advance - call 734.794.6267, then select Option 2
Through TRAKIT at www.a2gov.org/trakit
Through our offices during regular business hours - call 734.794.6263 a minimum of 24 hours in advance

Inspections will be scheduled according to the inspectors' availability. Inspectors conduct inspection Monday - Friday.

To schedule inspections thru the IVR (phone) system:
1. Dial 734.794.6267 and select option 2.

2. Select Option 1

3. Select Option 2

4. Enter Permit Prefix (example BLDG = 2534)

5. Enter the 6 digit permit number (example 110000)

6. Confirm by pressing 1 if the permit number entered is correct

7. Select Option 2 to schedule

8. Enter 4 digit code for inspection type (Click here for codes)

9. Pick date for inspection by selecting 1, 2, 3, etc...

10. Request AM, PM or any time by Selecting 1, 2 or 3

11. Enter 10 digit phone number

12. Select Option 1 to confirm inspection

To schedule inspections using ETrakIt on the internet:
1. Go to web page: www.a2gov.org/permits

2. Select PERMITS

3. The system defaults to search by Address which you can change to permit number if that is easier.

4. Enter the property address of the permit in the SEARCH STRING field and click on SEARCH. Example: for 123 N. Main St. you would enter 123 N Main (no punctuation and no St. Ave or Dr.)

5. All permits associated with that address will populate. Double click on your permit.

6. Select REQUEST INSPECTION on left hand side of screen.

7. Enter all of the information in each required field, select a date for inspection and if needed you can request AM or PM.

8. Select on ADD INSPECTION.

9. Select SUBMIT

10. A pop up screen will appear asking you to verify that you wish to make the inspection. Select Yes.

11. You will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive the email; first, check your Spam folder. If it is not there the inspection probably is not scheduled. Please feel free to contact our office if you are unsure of the process.

NOTES:

1. You CANNOT cancel inspections via ETrakIT, but you can via the IVR phone system.

2. By requesting AM or PM you are simply making a request. The inspectors arrange their list the morning of the inspection and do so geographically. Therefore, your request may or may not be able to be granted, but we will make every attempt to do so.

3. Inspections cannot be scheduled for the next day after 2:30 pm on the previous day.

4. Inspections canceled the same day of the inspection are subject to a fee.

Inspection Results
Inspection results can be heard thru the IVR phone system (734.794.6263) and/or viewed on-line through TRAKiT.

Construction Inspection Hours
Construction inspections take place Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Because of reduced staffing, please plan ahead to schedule your inspections. Construction inspectors are available to meet by appointment between 7:30- 8 a.m. and by walk-in or appointment between 2:30 - 3:30 for mechanical inspectors and 3 - 4 pm for all other inspectors daily.
