Permits are obtained by submitting an appropriate application form together with two copies of plans of the proposed work.  Applications are reviewed for compliance with code and safety requirements.  Some applications require supporting documentation.

Many of our applications and registration forms are now available for downloading.  We will also fax or mail applications at your request.  We're sorry but applications cannot be submitted on-line at this time.

Permits cannot be issued until they are paid for.  For your convenience, we accept MasterCard, VISA, checks, money orders and cash.

Building permit fees (PDF) are based on the cost of the project.

Electrical (PDF), Mechanical (PDF), and Plumbing (PDF) permit fees are based on the actual work being performed.   Homeowners are eligible to obtain permits by filing an affidavit affirming they are doing the work themselves.  Homeowners also must speak with an inspector before obtaining a trade permit.

The following affidavits and instructions must accompany permits where applicable:

Energy worksheet
Home Owner Affidavit (where owner applies for permit)
Insurance Requirements
Investigation into House Relocation
Reclamation of Usable Materials (where a house is proposed for demolition)
