 Building Board of Appeals 

 

The purpose of the Building Board of Appeals is to hear variance requests from the requirements of the State Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes.

The next Building Board of Appeals meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 1:30 pm in Council Chamber, Second Floor, Larcom City Hall.  The complete agenda packet is provided in the link listed below:

Applications

Building Code Variances 
Applications for variances of building code regulations are available from Construction Services, located on the first floor at 301 East Huron Street, or downloaded from the link listed below. 

Completed applications should be submitted to the Administrative Specialist a minimum of 5 weeks prior to the meeting date to allow staff adequate time to review the application and notify the public. 

Michigan Barrier Free Design Rule Exception
Applications are available locally or through this link.  All processing is handled by the State of Michigan. No local variances are permitted.

Fees

The application fee for single-family residential homes is $250.
The application fee for all other buildings is $500.

Schedule

The Building Board of Appeals meetings are typically held the second Thursday of the month at 301 East Huron Street, Larcom City Hall, in the First Floor North Conference Room.
