Internship Opportunities
at Burns Park Senior Center and Community Programs
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assigned to the Ann Arbor Senior Center and Community Enrichment Program Services area under the direct supervision of the Facility Supervisor, Pamela Simmons. Plans and organizes routine application of individual and group structured activities, observes, discusses, and evaluates existing program and activities, makes suggestions where applicable and is assigned to manage one program development project.
TYPICAL TASKS:

Organize, plan and execute at least one structured activity/ program for seniors or general public attending the after hours programs.

Attend and participate in program staff meetings

Observe and evaluate supervisory level techniques and work application through orientation in front office management, special events and programs

Maintain and prepare records for program attendance

Assist program set up and management as needed

Supervise programs and activities
-
Assist Program Coordinator with general operations

Perform related tasks as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to maintain order in a public facility, maintain effective working relationships with participants, general public, staff and volunteers, ability to receive constructive criticism, general knowledge of senior or community programming.
