 Riverwood Nature Area

Riverwood Nature Area is located west of Newport Road, and north of M-14.  It comprises 4.82 acres adjacent to Riverwood Road in the Newport Ridge Condominiums.  There is one small trail in the park, with both entrances on Riverwood Road. The nature area acts as a green buffer between the residential area and the highway.

Ecologically, Riverwood is a remnant upland forest fragment with some big trees and spring wildflowers.  Features of this natural area include a high mound in the center of the park, and wetlands with a small stream.  Plants of note include Oaks, Hickories, Dogwood, Buttonbush and Turtlehead.
