The City of Ann Arbor, Parks and Recreation is updating the Parks and Recreation Open Space Plan. The 8-week survey closed in July and we thankfully received feedback from more than 800 people. We greatly appreciate your support.

We're currently compiling all of the data we received from the survey. At this time we are making available the written comments we received from the open-ended questions. To view or download the PDF click here.

What is the Parks and Recreation Open Space Plan (PROS Plan)?
The PROS Plan is the master plan for the Ann Arbor Park system. The plan provides a vision for the park system, as well as an inventory of parks and facilities, park system operations, history, planning areas, projects and plans for the future.  It is also important to qualify for state and federal funding.

What is the timeline for the plan?
The plan should be completed by the Fall of 2010 so that it can be approved by the State of Michigan by December 2010. It needs to be approved by the Park Advisory Commission, Planning Commission, City Council and other regional agencies.

Once a draft of the plan is complete, copies will be posted at the public libraries and online. This should be available by October, 2010.
