Snag Golf Equipment

2013 Schedule

What is the SNAG Coaching System?

There has never really been a system dedicated to the development of new players that is both easy to teach and learn. SNAG is kind of a T-Ball for golf type system.  The SNAG system integrates modified equipment and instruction that makes the learning process fun. The SNAG Company will provide us a manual on best practices for using their coaching system and combined with our staff, we will be able to reach out to not only young kids, but many other groups of beginners to introduce them to this wonderful game.

·  SNAG integrates MODIFIED GOLF equipment to make learning fun and easy.

·  SNAG is designed to be SAFE and can be taught and PLAYED ANYWHERE.

·  The club-heads have more surface area to significantly increase the success of the learner.

·  The psychology of color is used in each of the components to reduce anxiety.

·  The five-sided grip ensures that the student holds the club properly.

  ·  The Launch Pad™ makes the game portable and serves as an alignment tool.

Targets are used to help the student focus on aim and accuracy. Training tools help each student develop skill acquisition quickly.

Our Mission Statement for SNAG Instructional Camps

--  To create “Trust” between our program and the parents of our potential students.

-- To teach children younger than 8 years old – our current age requirement

--  To open the opportunities for learning the game of golf at locations beyond the borders of our course.

--  To give all junior participants “an opportunity” to then play on our courses.

--  To make sure that our students “enjoyed golf and their experience” playing & leaning the game".

What will be the format of our SNAG Camps?

So far we are looking at programs that will run 1 hour -  1 day a week, for 6 weeks. The children will pick a day and time that works best for them that goes along with their experience level in our curriculum. Other facilities have had most success with ages 4 to 9. The students should be grouped according to age and ability within the groups. We need make sure the children are comfortable in their surroundings, and being with kids their own age certainly helps!

Besides these summer classes, we also hope to teach a fall program that is two days a week after school for 3 weeks, and possibly a two day winter golf camp which coincides with school vacations. There are successful programs that go into area schools through the P.E. educators and teach during the school hours. It will help them, help us and more importantly help the game of golf.

What does a typical lesson look like for the kids?

The students arrive and are split into 3 groups of 8. In their first lesson, we will introduce or review the SNAG terminology for about 20 minutes, the kids then start to understand how the golf swing comes together. Next, the students will be assigned a hitting area (mat) and hit at least 5 balls at targets. We should have a ball boy give them more balls or they pick up a few balls on their own…which is great to keep them moving! We would proceed to have the kids hit balls for the next 20 minutes. The last twenty minutes we would separate the kids into smaller groups, four kids with one instructor and they play a 6 hole scramble. While we are playing a scramble, we would incorporate the pitch, chip and roller. The kids will enjoy this! They get to work as a team and learn the concept of playing a hole in golf.
