Ann Arbor's African American Festival: Remembering When
At one time Ann & 4th in downtown Ann Arbor was populated by numerous successful African American businesses. In 1921 the Colored Welfare League bought the Kayser Block on North Fourth Ave. and used it as a center to help settle black workers who migrated to Ann Arbor. The businesses that began to dot the landscape included restaurants, bars, beauty shops, and retail stores.
The African American Downtown Festival celebrates this rich history with an event that is now in its 14th year. CTN was there to record memories of festival-goers of a time gone by. Watch the footage as many recall the contributions of those early Black business leaders.

ACT NOW!
The 2% fee of gross cable revenues designated for Public Access Television is in danger of being lost. The Michigan Legislature intended for municipalities to receive these funds to operate an important community resource. Some cable companies are not paying the PEG (Public, Educational, Government) access fee. HB 5047 & SB 636 will preserve these funds.
