CTN's Training & Facility Coordinator, Mike Koski, assists client Dave Chappell in the Editing Suite.

CTN provides video production training and equipment.  Our free classes cover the various aspects of television production, including an introduction to the concept of public access television.  To register for a class, call 734-769-7422 or visit the CTN studios Monday-Friday, 11:00 am to 10:00 PM. You must attend a Preview Session before you can register for a production class.

Provides an overview of the public access philosophy, including a brief history of access and CTN, an outline of available services, a tour of the facilities at CTN, and a review of the residency requirements.

All classes include written tests and hands-on exercises and are designed to certify citizens in the use of CTN equipment, solely for the production of programming for the Public Access channel.

Edit
Learn how to operate digital editing and graphic equipment. This is a great start for someone who already has footage shot with his/her own camcorder or who intends to take the Remote Workshop later.

Remote
Learn how to operate a camcorder and related equipment allowing you to shoot on location.

Studio (includes Control Room)
Learn lighting and set design, camera composition, audio set-up and studio camera operation.  Learn how to direct, create computer graphics, mix audio, operate a switcher and other technical aspects of producing a studio shoot.

Hotline Studio
Learn how to operate the cameras from a remote desk while you host the show as well. (1-person operation.) Great way to get a studio-look to your program, without having to book a crew.
