Interested in Becoming A Student Intern
For the  City Of Ann Arbor?

 The City of Ann Arbor welcomes students interested in gaining experience through internship or practicum for their chosen field.

Eligibility for Internship

To be eligible to apply for an internship with the City of Ann Arbor, you must fit into one or more of the categories listed below:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university.
  • Enrolled in the past year to a college or university.
  • Internship or practicum is required for college credit.

 How do I apply for an internship with the City of Ann Arbor?

If interested in becoming a student intern for the City of Ann Arbor, please apply online via the City’s website: www.a2gov.org.

Apply to job number: 09-0007 - Intern

  •  Submit a cover letter with details about your areas of professional interest and the types of projects you hope to work on during an internship with the City of Ann Arbor. 

Please include:

  • The college or university in which you are enrolled.
  • Your level (Undergraduate, Graduate, other)
  • The program in which you are enrolled.
  • The semester or time frame you wish to intern and the number of days and hours per week you will be able to devote to your internship.
  • Finally, please submit a resume and complete the online application.

You will be notified for an interview if an internship opportunity is available.
