 Meetings

(Return to Human Rights Commission Home Page)

The Commission meets on a monthly basis to discuss human rights concerns and take action on its numerous agenda items.  Along with our monthly meetings, the Commission can fulfill its responsibilities by:

  • advising Mayor and Council
  • reviewing City policies and programs
  • educating the community
  • holding public hearings
  • monitoring employment practices in City Hall

The Commission plans its projects and priorities at a yearly retreat as well as responding to issues that occur throughout the year.  Many issues are brought to our attention by members of the public.

YOU'RE INVITED!  We welcome anyone wanting to discuss concerns about human rights to attend Commission meetings which are generally held on the

2nd Wednesday of each month
7:00 p.m.
4th Floor City Hall

If you would like to attend, or find out what is on the agenda, please contact the Human Resources Department at 994-2803.

It is not necessary to call first, participants are welcome without advance notice.
