What are the hours of operation for Human Resources Services?
The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise announced.
How can I find out what positions are currently open at the City of Ann Arbor?
Positions can be viewed at the City’s website: www.a2gov.org. You can also listen to current open positions listed on our 24 hour Position Hotline at: 734-994-8106.
Can I apply on-line through the City’s website?
Yes, If this is your first time applying online with the City of Ann Arbor, go to the City’s Employment link. Click on desired position and follow instructions through the apply online link at the bottom of the page.
Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
Yes, once you have established a log in account through the employment page link. Click on desired position and follow instructions through the apply online link at the bottom of the page.
Should I supply a resume along with my application form?
Yes, if you have a resume, please attach it to the application during the online process. However, even with an attached resume, please sure that all questions are answered on the online application. Failure to complete the entire application may disqualify you. You will be asked to sign an electronic version of the online application when completed and a hard copy if selected to move forward.
Is there a physical examination and drug screen?
Yes. There is a post-offer physical exam and drug screen for regular positions.
May I take the application home to complete it?
Applications are completed online via the internet. The City’s website can be accessed thru any computer with internet access. A computer kiosk is available for use in Human Resources at 220 E. Huron St. Ann Arbor, MI 48107. Hours of operation are: 8am- 5pm Monday- Friday. Computers with internet access can usually be found for use at your local area library.
What happens if my disability prevents me from completing the application?
If you are an applicant with a disability and require some accommodation during any part of the application and/or selection process, please inform a Human Resources staff member, and arrangements will be made.
I'm from out of town. Is there any way I can get a listing and description of the available positions?
Yes. You can call or POSITION LINE at 734-994-8106. 24 hours a day 7 days a week for a complete listing. Or you can view the current postings for regular or temporary positions here on our web page.
