​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Planning and Development Services Unit is one of four service units in the Community Services Area.  Its staff of 33 inspectors, planners and support specialists provide the following services

  • Appeal​ Boards​: Support to Building, Housing, Zoning Boards
  • Construction and Building: Construction plan review, permits, inspections, code enforcement
  • Development Review: ​​Site plan review, citizen participation, support to Design Review Board​
  • Historic Preservation: Support to Historic District Commission, permits, code enforcement
  • ​Planning: Support to Planning Commission, master planning, planning initiatives, neighborhood registration
  • Rental Housing: Residential rental housing inspections, code enforcement
  • Zoning: ​Zoning permits, reports, code enforcement, zoning maps
