Fiscal Year 2018/19 Budget Process

Budget planning discussions for fiscal years 2018 and 2019 will continue during several City Council Work Sessions scheduled in February and March. Fiscal year 2018 begins on July 1, 2017 and ends June 30, 2018. City Council members can only adopt one fiscal year at a time even though the city plans for multi-year budgets. 

City Council Work Sessions:
Feb. 13, 2017 - Council Work Session discussion with staff from the City Administrator's Office, Community Services, Finance and Administrative Services, Fire, Police and the 15th District Court will be held at Larcom City Hall, Council Chambers 2nd Floor, 301 E. Huron St. 7 p.m. Citizens can watch this meeting at their convenience via CTN's Video on Demand

Feb. 27, 2017 - Council Work Session discussion with staff from the City Attorney's Office and Public Services will be held at Larcom City Hall, Council Chambers 2nd Floor, 301 E. Huron St. 7 p.m. This meeting will be available to view live in a variety of formats including:  Comcast cable channel 16, AT&T UVerse Channel 99 or live webstream. Citizens also can watch the meeting later at their convenience via CTN's Video on Demand

March 13, 2017 - Council Work Session discussion with staff from the Downtown Development Authority, Housing Commission, LDFA and Pension will be held at Larcom City Hall, Council Chambers 2nd Floor, 301 E. Huron St. 7 p.m.     

Budget Timeline: 
February - March: Council Work Sessions.   
April: In accordance with City Charter, the City Administrator's Recommended fiscal year 2018 budget is submitted to City Council on April 17, 2017. City Council members can only adopt one fiscal year at a time even though the city plans for multi-year budgets.
May: City Council, with at least seven affirmative votes, must adopt the budget no later than its second meeting in May (May 15).

Fiscal year 2017 City Council work sessions related to budget planning are noted below. Fiscal year 2017 begins on July 1, 2016 and ends June 30, 2017.  

City Council Work Sessions:
Feb. 22, 2016 - Council Work Session discussion with staff from the City Administrator's Office, Community Services, Finance and Administrative Services, Fire and Police at Larcom City Hall, Council Chambers 2nd Floor, 301 E. Huron St. 7 p.m. This meeting will be cablecast on CTN's Comcast channel 16 and available to view online via CTN's Video on Demand.

March 14, 2016 - Council Work Session discussion with staff from the City Attorney's Office, DDA, Housing Commission, LDFA and Public Services at Larcom City Hall, Council Chambers 2nd Floor, 301 E. Fiscal Year 2014 Budget 

 

On Monday, December 10, 2012, City Council held a planning session, which included a financial overview presentation for fiscal years 2014 and 2015.     

Budget planning discussions for fiscal years 2014 and 2015 will continue during four City Council Work Sessions scheduled in February and March. Fiscal year 2013 begins on July 1, 2013 and ends June 30, 2014. City Council members can only adopt one fiscal year at a time even though the city plans for multi-year budgets.

Fiscal Year 2013 Budget

Fiscal year 2013 begins on July 1, 2012 and ends June 30, 2013.  This is the second year of the two-year budget presented to Council in May of 2011 by the City Administrator. City Council members can only adopt one fiscal year at a time even though the city plans for multi-year budgets.

Budget Timeline: 
February - March: Council Work Sessions were scheduled for February 13 and March 12.  
April: In accordance with City Charter, the City Administrator's Recommended FY2013 Budget is submitted to City Council on or before April 15, 2012.
May: City Council, with at least seven affirmative votes, must adopt the budget no later than its second meeting in May.

Fiscal Year 2012 Budget

On Saturday, December 4, 2010, City Council held a work session to begin fiscal year 2012 and 2013 budget discussions and prepare staff priorities. This budget discussion regarding sustainable city services will continue at a Council offsite meeting on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. In addition, several Council Work Session have been scheduled to continue public budget discussions. Fiscal year 2012 begins on July 1, 2011 and ends June 30, 2012.
