MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the City of Ann Arbor Fire Department Training Division is to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of fire department personnel to support the mission statement of the City of Ann Arbor Fire Department.

The training division consists of two 40-hour personnel. Those two people are responsible for ensuring that every department member stay current with all mandated training as well as any other specialty training as a result of equipment or specific rescue scenarios. Most required training courses consist of 1 - 3 hours of classroom time in addition to any necessary hands-on training. Each class is taught 6 times in order to accommodate each shift and 1 make-up session for each shift. Therefore, minimally, each required class takes at least 6 hours to complete.
